🐚 Triton’s trumpet One of the most legendary shells in the ocean. Triton trumpets are natural predators of crown-of-thorns starfish, which helps protect coral reefs. Also a predator, and fun fact: their spiral often opens on the left (a “left-handed” shell). 🐚 Queen helmet Thick, heavy, and usually smoother with warm tan/orange tones. Built like armor. Queen helmets live on sandy bottoms and seagrass flats, where they prey on sea urchins and sand dollars, helping keep ecosystems balanced. 🐚 King helmet The bold, dramatic counterpart to the queen helmet. King helmets are known for their pronounced knobs, deeper ridges, and richer contrast in color and texture. They are heavier, more sculptural, and feel almost architectural in the hand.
