John you have endless patience, talking to someone who consistently and constantly interrupts to incorrectly predict the next part of your story…you have the patience of a Greek saint

Utter lie. Very strange. France does have birthright citizenship. Not fully automatic like in the us but if you are born in France to foreign parents, you can become French at 18, provided you live in France at that age and have lived there for at least five years since the age of 11. So, most second-generation immigrants can easily exercise that right.

Parry :
Birth in France alone is generally not enough. Citizenship usually depends on parentage or on meeting residence requirements during childhood and adolescence.

I imagine Paris has the same problem we experience in Tokyo, where some spots have become so famous with tourists that they 'have to' go there to all take the same selfies and have the same experiences like it's a social requirement, some of them entirely contrived because it's from a movie. But it's also kind of filtered; most places, no tourists; they don't go to the real local places, because it's intimidatingly foreign to them, they don't speak the language, don't know the manners, and they're not interested in learning or even exploring a little. And we can tell the difference between someone who may be from a foreign country originally, like me, but who actually lives here and is a local, and a tourist on sight, how they're dressed, their behavior, how they walk up to the cashier habitually rather than looking like they're about to take an oral exam or else make demands for their expectations as a 'guest' where they're not a guest as if the whole country is a giant theme park.

Be honest. Free and robust public healthcare is available to everyone who has been in the country for at least six months. Public education is world class. Housing laws making homelessness very rare. And Paris is a GREAT city. It has incredible public transit, endless history and stunning architecture. The food. The art. The public gardens. The fashion. The cinema. Sadly the French are some very racist folk who have ALWAYS believed immigrants should adapt to their culture. It’s a massive source code flaw.
