But by Allah’s will and the strength He has given me, I can finally say that I’m proud of myself for always trying to stay true to my values and my faith, even when they weren’t always understood or accepted. Alhamdulillah. 🌸 My biggest lesson: No matter how uncomfortable a situation may feel, stay true to your values. Don’t change who you are just because you think others won’t understand. If we explain our beliefs with kindness and respect, people are often much more understanding than we expect. P.S. I later explained why I didn’t shake his hand and instead placed my hand over my heart as a sign of respect.
