@stefaniemoconnell: Household inequality isn’t just about who does the dishes. Eliminating household inequality isn’t just about reducing women’s overload. It’s about removing the subsidy that drives men’s career growth, advancement and financial power at women’s expense. #worklifebalance #worklifestruggle #careeradvice
This is BS, easy to fix numbers to make things look better than they are

Married housework did go up, because I’m remodeling a home from 1910, in comparison to house we had together that was already how we wanted it. But had to sell one year away from being mortgage free 😭. Oh and last place didn’t have a yard , now have to do repairs on 2 homes mine and hers, since kids live there too.

men may make more married but they spend more when married. as for housework. yeah...if woman did it and is no longer there...so man will do the housework...just like the woman financial resources drop and must do more at work to make up the deficit generally speaking.ur skrewing the numbers in ur anlysis.

My housework went up when I got with my wife and my job has not suffered at all.As a result of that, I just have more to do, because there 's more people living in the house. It's not that complicated, just do the work. I don't complain that there's more dishes to do now that she's there, she doesn't complain that there's more laundry do now that i'm there. Why is it so complicated for people to figure that out. And that study is most likely correct, because the amount of housework an individual would do would go down. If there's less people living in the house, that's just basic math.

Was with my ex for 15 years. After he moved out, I didn't notice an increase in housework and it really opened my eyes for how useless he became (I was also the higher earner and paying the majority of the bills). Interestingly, I've also been able to save more money living alone.

Married men are not “able” to make more, they are required to make more.

The correlation is not entirely accurate, especially when you look at preferences. Women do more housework than men when they are single because they care about the micro issues men do not generally. So when you compare apples to apples women still do more housework now when a woman is doing the same housework at home because she has a preference for those things to get done. If there’s multiple people, you know a husband and children of course there’s gonna be a bit more to do. But it’s really not much more. Yes because men are willing to work more when they’re in a relationship a man generally have to work more because they have more responsibilities, but they do not have more disposable money. They have less disposable money comparably to when they are single. The scaling back is generally due to the higher hours and more responsibilities at work. Not to mention when you average in the percentage of the sex that stays home more often. more women to stay at home spouses than men therefore they should be doing all of the housework. The man shouldn’t have to a damn thing. Again, when you were looking at the red winner statistic, you’re still going to have to factor and preferences. You also have to factor in how tasks are laid out differently for example of a man says he’s got to do the dishes. He simply does the dishes now if you ask a woman what she has to do and she said she has to do the dishes she will also say she has to clear the table grab the dishes ransom wash, and pre-soak them put them in the dishwasher pre-soak them in the dishwasher. Take them out of the dishwasher. When you add every individual move as a task, it seems like you’re doing more work, but you’re really not an in statistics. They really really like to add those points.

stop treating every unequal task split as oppression. If one spouse earns more while the other handles more at home—and both share the income and agreed to that arrangement—that is specialization within a partnership. Unequal categories do not automatically mean an unfair total contribution.

this is a silly stat if you AREN'T going to provide any percentages here..
Women are known for going EXTRA & doing EXXTTRAA so when men's household work goes up I bet that it's truly not by much PLUS this is just looking at divorce, it isnt looking at the more popular arrangement which is cohabitation

I just left my husband and marriage of 9 years on Friday. Even jumped state in order to do this. No going back ever again and now he's the one crying and boo hooing cause he has so much house work to do all by himself now. I'm choosing peace over chaos and he hates me for it. Why do men always assume there's another guy in the picture when you decide to leave them?

Can we talk about how women clean the house before cleaning lady comes… not just pick things up but do a superficial clean. Men do not trim the grass a little before landscaper comes lol

You make this sound like a bad thing maybe I misunderstanding, but isn’t a relationship supposed to be 50-50? Some days you may have to do more than the others and vice versa. Or am I taking this too literal?

The study is talking about home produced goods and mentions bread in the title. Sounds like they’re talking about cooking. Women cook less when divorced and men cook more. Why are you using the term “housework”?
