The answer to this question is that both are equal to be born good means that kindness is in your being and that you chose to willingly help others from the start, but to overcome your evil is to show that despite how dark a path someone goes if they get that little boost of help they can take it and grow. Both are equally as powerful.

There is an obvious answer. To be born good. But to be clear; there is no such thing. No one is born anything. We are all born blank slates, and developed by our environment. There is no such thing as development in vacuum, so we are always products of our environment. So you can not be born good. Then do the next best thing; take the evil that has developed within you, and rid yourself of it. Prove this cruel, beautiful world incorrect. Even for as little as an act of defiance. Even if it changes nothing at all. Do it. Overcome.

I think that arguement misconstrues human nature, people are shaped by their environment, you can have deep rooted hatred for others or a deep seated need to "save" people, but that isn't your nature it's your inner ego telling you what "you have to be". I think their better question is, "What is better, to be one who has inherited a healthy self, or to overcome your harmful ego through great effort", I like the idea of ego death more and breaking down who you are because it's almost impossible to be a purely "healthy" person, we are strengthened by our weaknesses and poor decisions, "Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding. it's better to be born good obviously, but overcoming your evil nature is a necessity, so you don't spread that evil and cause division. although I would have preferred to be born good, working on the evil within minimizes the chances of unnecessarily hurting others.
