I will also mention the fact that people liked Subaru more than Rudeus because he needs to face his flaws as HIMSELF and become a better person while Rudeus needed a "divine intervention" to even become somewhat decent generally and even then he still does not regret his pervy actions like forcing a kid to bathe with him (sylphy) during his childhood and said he will make sylphy his perfect wife which points to grooming behavious with an adult mind masquerading as a kid. These actions became even worse a she grew up but since he is handsome now, got high-tier genetics and surviving on plot armour at times. I expected more from what some people call "The father of Isekai" but alll I see is an abusive dad that got atleast 1 abused son which swore will never becomes like his deranged dad (the abused son is re:peak)
