The best way to get flavor into poultry meat isn’t an injection but a brine like this savory delicious one from @redmondrealsalt A brine is designed to work its way through and into the meat fibers adding a ton of flavor to the meat all the way to the bone. I also do my Holiday Turkeys like this which i will get into in a few months. Whole chickens typically need 6 to a max of 12 hours to brine in ice cold water. Too much brining time can lead to the meat being too soft. Always rinse the brining liquid off after the brine time is up.
