I think Joyboy was a monkey with a strawhat. Pirates have another well known companion in monkeys. If Imu’s a parrot, it’s safe to assume he was a pirate’s companion. It’s also VERY safe to assume that pirate is Davy Jones, the man that Rocks declared to be the true king of the world. What if Joyboy is Davy Jones’ monkey who stayed loyal to him (Will of D) and Imu is Davy Jones’ parrot who betrayed him. Think even deeper into it, and every King has a left and right wing. Zoro/Sanji, Gaban/Rayleigh , King/Queen. Wouldn’t be crazy to say it’s the same for Joyboy/Imu.
