@documenting_my_cars: Surprising my grandpa with HIS Corvette at a car show! This is my grandpa’s 1961 Chevy Corvette. He bought it from his coworker, who was the original owner, in 1971. He drove it year round during those early years, even taking it from Michigan to New York and back. Years later, in 1986, he had a full restoration done on it, including a new frame, paint, and many other details. In recent years, he hasn’t been able to drive it much. In fact, the car isn’t even stored at his house anymore, instead it’s stored in my mom’s garage as he has encouraged the rest of the family to enjoy it by taking it on dates, to get ice cream, and whatever else we’d like to do with it. So that’s why I got this idea! Seeing his face light up as he saw his own car from a new perspective made my year, and I’m happy to be able to share it here! #corvette #chevy #grandpa #family #carsonhocevar
