@watchcrimory: A normal school day in Barre Town, Vermont took a strange turn when staff called for help after a student reported unusual behavior from a substitute teacher. Police identified the teacher as 47-year-old Melissa Martin. According to the bodycam footage, staff members said a student noticed she was acting strangely during class and alerted adults at the school. Officers and medical staff spoke with Martin in the principal’s office before she was taken to the hospital for evaluation. Investigators then checked her belongings at the school, including her jacket and backpack. During the investigation, police said a K9 indicated on her belongings, and officers later found a substance inside her jacket pocket. The concern was not only what she had allegedly brought into the building, but that it had been left inside a classroom where students could have accessed it. Martin was issued a citation for reckless endangerment and possession. She was not taken to jail at that moment, but she was immediately removed from the school. How did a student notice what adults almost missed? #crimory #truecrime #bodycam #crimestory #policebodycam
