@kaiamadd: I haven’t been on min rest in a while, it’s never scheduled in my trips these days to be such a short overnight because I get pretty decent trips. For those who don’t know, “min rest” is when we get 10 hours from your check out time that night to your check in time the next morning. It’s the FAA legal minimum amount of time due to our rest requirements. It makes sure you get 8 hours of sleep. It’s never fun because I like longer layovers to have time at night for relaxing, and time in the morning for a workout, but when delays get stacked up throughout the day it cuts into our layover time. #womeninaviation #femalepilot #airlinepilot #womeninmalefields #pilotlife

Dispatcher here 🙋🏾♂️Groundstops restrict departures generally from the internal ARTCC, 1st tier (centers bordering the center the airport is located in (ORD-ZAU)), or 2nd tier (centers bordering first tier). Internal stop could be volume or small cells near the airfield. 2nd tier due to a wx system lasting hours that include extended holding and diversions. And when it comes to recovery they’ll start backwards lifting the stop from 2nd tier then 1st then internal (if needed). So yeah the shorter legs get screwed over the most 🙃

I’ll be flying United from Scranton to Chicago and back in late September/ early October. It would be so cool if you’re one of my pilots for either trip!

Hi! Student pilot here. I initially wanted to take a part 61 flight school so that I could work full time and help my parents pay for the expenses. However, my parents would rather me get a diploma/degree than end up without one. Would you recommend me taking part 61 for my PPL then signing up for a part 141 for the reat of the licenses? Is that somewhat a good idea? Or is there a cheaper and better way to get a degree with minimun expenses?
