What about when you don’t sleep at night but sleep the whole day

Oh good, so I basically get home, go straight to bed, wake up, go to work, come back straight to bed rinse and repeat. I actually tried that, my anxiety and burnout was still there except I was now far more depressed and my passive suicidal ideation started becoming active suicidal ideation. So I'll take those couple of hours for myself just so I don't feel like a slave. Being able to go to sleep when you want and wake up when you want is privilege

I MUST get 7-8 hours or I’m a monster. All my friends know if I’ve slept good or not because of how my personality changes the next day or following days.

Sleep deprivation affects everyone but if you have a chronic illness or dysatonomia it can cause symptoms to flare. You don’t just need sleep but good quality sleep is what’s important. Setting up a calming bedtime routine and getting on a good sleep schedule can help. All my life I’ve always slept too much, I would always joke that I loved sleeping, but in reality my body was living in fight or flight mode, because I wasn’t actually getting good quality sleep, so when I would be awake my heart rate would be too high and I would still feel exhausted and terrible no matter how much sleep I had gotten, as it turns out though I have dysautonomia (POTS) and knowing that makes it even more important to get not just sleep but good quality sleep, because sleep deprivation can exasperate my symptoms and cause massive flare ups.

I'm a nanny and I know for a fact that it's killing me and my mental health because on the weekends when I get to sleep in and go to sleep at a decent hour, I feel phenomenal. Not as phenomenal as I could feel if I slept regularly all the time. But a lot better than during the week. And I didn't really notice until August of last year when every single one of the kids was sick back to back to back with a stomach bug and I have emetophobia so I wasn't eating much, I wasn't sleeping, and in turn I felt like absolute garbage. Horrible gut health, raging anxiety, just absolutely exhausted. And it lasted for 2 months. All of August and all of September and part of October and then finally when my brain and body made the connection that I was no longer in danger, I was able to start sleeping well again and then slowly my gut and residual anxiety improved. Now, I still have anxiety and gut issues and stress and I struggle to sleep and whatnot, but I can contribute 90% of that to my job because triplets are exhausting, being a nanny is exhausting but being a nanny for a family that absolutely hates you and doesn't give two craps about you and has failed to realize that I too am a human being and I too have a life outside of this job is also exhausting. More exhausting than anything. I don't hardly make anything doing this. I am stretched thin in every aspect of life due to this job. Financially, fucked. I don't have enough hours in the day to get a second job so I don't have one. I don't have enough hours in the day to enjoy my time at home and do what I need to do at home in peace because I leave here late and then I still need to go grocery shopping, cook dinner, plan dinners, do dishes and clean up the kitchen, take care of the dogs and chickens, water the garden, shower, study, spend time with God, and still get a full 8 hours of sleep just to be woken up an hour early with a text from my boss that very well

Soooo…I have trouble sleeping because of perimenopause. It’s AWFUL!! Going next week to discuss HRT with my doc because I just can’t deal anymore. 😭 I do all the things. I stop using my phone an hour before bed. I keep the light in my room dim until I’m ready to actually lay down and go to sleep. My room is cool (VERY COOL because - hot flashes 👀). But still, I need some help. 🥺
