I remember playing Soul Calibur as a kid and I loved playing as Ivy. I showed my dad the game and he said “why are you playing a girl???” The way people force these weird ideologies on their kids is so…well, weird. Granted I am gay, but still moments like that just led me to struggling with acceptance of myself.

Honestly as a bisexual femboy myself, it’s hard, it’s so damn hard to be yourself around people or even just yourself in general, I’ve kept my sexuality hidden because my mom says “oh god created Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve” and yeah it might’ve been a joke but it just angered me inside because I feel like I can’t be myself anywhere I go! It’s so annoying, sometimes I just wish that parents and people can just get along and just understand eachother, I hate it so damn much

I had gay assumptions in high school because I was a quiet person who didn’t dress like the stereotypical blk dude at my school (I live in Florida) plus with the fact of me not having a lot of girlfriends in high school people just assumed I didn’t like girls.

my white-passing latina mother said "you're not a girl" to me when i wanted to get an ear-stretching kit.. i was conscious of my blackness even then & wanted stretched ears to represent the aesthetic culture of many african cultures. she & many other people know little to, more likely, nothing abt that. had nothing to do with me being a man but of course who isnt black & who isnt in tune with their roots wouldnt get it.
