@reevcon: The Odyssey really did their big one with that final sequence. The sound of the bow being strung like a lyre cord, followed by the sound of the arrow hitting the mark was pretty epic ngl
If he created a horror movie he’d ask an Etsy witch if she could summon a demon

I don’t understand people who pick at the “historical accuracy” of this movie. IT DIDNT HAPPEN it’s a STORY

stuff like using tall 7’ guys with 5’ stunt doubles is more of what we need to see, the classic effects are classics for a reason not everything needs to be comped together/green screen/cgi etc

So the reason The Odyssey looked so tea is because in order to film it they went on an actual odyssey

Correction on the ships: not period accurate to the time period of the odyssey, but it is an authentic viking ship

People getting mad over every little tiny thing with this movie, film bros will never be satisfied, it could’ve been Greek actors who spoke only Greek and they’d be mad they were speaking modern Greek instead of authentic time period Greek or that their facial features weren’t Greek enough 😭😭😭

I love practical effects, I wasn’t planning on watching this tbh but the more I learn about it… I think I actually want to.

Practical filmmaking is such a beautiful science and art. Anyone who loves this stuff I implore you to watch all of the Lord of the Rings - behind the scenes. You will be incredibly surprised.

Zendaya said that it was honor for them actors to not have to imagine the situations in front of a green screen but instead they were fully immersed in it IRL

There are two kinds of people: those who get upset over a movie’s accuracy and those who other people enjoy being around. The movie kicked butt. It’s okay not to like something. Saying its historical accuracy ruined it for you is kind of performative.
