it looks like Michaela wears velvet and (idrk fabrics) fabrics with a similar soft shine and thickness, hopefully that's the theme because that sounds very interesting and new

Omg thank you! I thought no one else noticed. It makes so much sense given how soft and pastel s1 was compared to s2, 3 and 4. S3 was practically featherington themed 😅

i love that they show the world through the leading lady's eyes but i do wish they could have made it clear that that's what they're doing, rather than pretending to be based in historical fashion

Sooo true!! 👏🏼 With Daphne, I would also add that her color scheme in s1 of Bridgerton blues and pastels serves to set up the world-building of the show and drive home how well-regarded the Bridgerton family is within society.
I hadn’t distinguished how the fashions at large seen in s4 reflected the shock factor for Sophie coming into Mayfair but you are so right! 🩶🩵
