@fox8nola: Ochsner Health is preparing to bring an experimental at-home Alzheimer’s treatment to Louisiana that could also help treat other neurological diseases. The therapy -- Spectris -- is still in clinical trials and takes a different approach from infusions or pills. The system uses a headset that delivers strobing light and low-frequency sound at 40 hertz to stimulate the brain. Researchers believe the stimulation may help remove plaque linked to Alzheimer’s disease, improve cognition and potentially slow the disease’s progression.
