Our school district stopped assigning entire books. Just passages from novels. We’re there.

reading the entirety of books is so important to do in school, and those who read the spark notes will never get the fruit of the “work” they’re doing

Some Random Person :
One important takeaway I had from reading F451 is that there wasn't really a "they". WE banned books. People WANTED books banned. It wasn't some government leader who randomly said one day "books must be burned!" It was society pushing away from books, gradually and naturally. That's not to say that F451 isn't a story about government control/overreach/propaganda, those themes are definitely present as well. But the government didn't force it on everyone in the beginning, the people chose to stop reading themselves.

Bradbury wrote 451 about TV. Imagine what he’d think now… (well, he thought the internet was a fad lol)

Just a reminder to people that hate AI, you can sit in a library for multiple hours and read a book (or check it out and bring it home), and it won't give you that dumb ahh ai summary

Also in 1984 they burn/confiscate anything that contradicts with what the government declares as the truth and rewrite history/books/papers to match their current agenda 🫠
