So so soooo smart with maternity savings! I wish I did that. You never know what’s going to happen. My son was in the NICU for 91 days and had 2 open heart surgeries in that time. I had less than a week home with him before I had to go back to work.

Do your own research, but it’s better to decrease your 401k to whatever your match is, if any, and contribute to a ROTH. Your taxes are likely to be higher later in life so paying the taxes now until you max out the Roth contribution will likely generate less on taxes and higher investments.

Look into short term disability insurance that’ll replace part of your income while you’re unable to work. Regretted not doing now that I have my baby whilst some of my coworkers were receiving income !
