Democracy is genuinely so overrated common ppl shouldn’t have the choice to elect leaders because they have no idea what or how these leaders will execute their policies and only listen to their promises. The state of America rn is a huge example of that on both parties.

dictatorship is such a lottery as for every competent Caesar or Marcus Aurelius the same system inevitably produces a Caligula a Nero or a Commodus who uses that exact same absolute power to bankrupt the state, murder rivals, and plunge Rome back into civil war. If u assume u get a perfect person/perfect circumstance sure its cool but u can technically apply that to any other version of ruling (I see how that’s debatable but u get what i mean)

Roman empires wasn’t a dictatorship or monarchy

The most direct form of democracy in Athens (sortition, democracy by raffle) gave birth to both the greatest city state in the region able to fend off the larger Persian Empire and give birth to some of the Wests most foundational thinkers; Plato, Socrates, to name a few. Democracy will always remain better, the commons will always govern best and to of the wholes interest when properly educated.
