Hi, Swede here. We are most certainly not socialist. We are social democratic. Socialism implies workers owning the means of production in some form, but we're capitalist through and through. We just invest a lot of tax money in welfare, - that's not socialism. I'd like to ask both you and her to stop using us to promote your own ideologies. Emulate us if you want to, but don't try to sell socialism using us when we're not even socialist.

yeah, taxes are higher here. but we also dont have to pay for doctors visits, hospital stays, we have a cap on how much we need to pay for medicine each year (when you reach the cap, the medicine is free) etc etc. so its actually cheaper to live here because we dont have to pay insurance for everything, we already have it through our taxes. and wait until she hears about the right wing rising in Sweden because people think that we have "mass-immigration" here 😅

We Are NOT socialist countries, we are capitalist. Socialism is when the public owns the means of production and there is economic equality. We have private markets and we have billionaires here too. We have our own kind of capitalism that focuses on the well being of the people, which increases productivity for the industries. We are capitalist. And also we are not «democratic socialist» we are «social democracies» which are two completleh different things.

From a nordic person: Free market with high taxes and strong welfare are not socialist. But yes some energy companies are state owned. But the Nordic countries also strive for as much competion and innovations with free markets as possible. Low capital tax too, Sweden had more billonares per capita then the US. But yes of course the US can have a similar politics. Maybe they should incorporate a stronger welfare model that fit each state with different circumstances. But dont imply that Scandinavia is Socialist it is simply not, not a single economist or Swedish political would agree. Even on the left.
