@afrikanhairgod: Replying to @thetinyizzy__ I keep telling y'all to leave the steamers alone. No research has been done on extensive use and it's very strange that they only market these appliances to black women
It the fact that I have 175 dollar hair steamer from pattern beauty.i only use it once not twice a month for like 20-30 min . Why didn’t I see this before I almost spent 200 bucks .it works great for my hair bc products actually get in so heavy on the don’t use often cuz that makes sense

It’s the fact that there is 0 research on hair steamers. I searched the internet trying to find it and there is NOTHING. Yet, black women and black women only swear by it.

From my understanding steamers are for those with low porosity hair because their cuticle is flat unlike high porosity hair where the cuticle is open.

Thanks so much for sharing this video. I stopped steaming my daughter and my hair after abt 3 months, I could feel the difference of our strands starting to feel limp and we were only doing 15 min sessions

Dare I say the steamers are also giving some sort of heat damage?? 🤔 we don’t really know how hot the steamer is getting? When the water would drip on my hand it sure stinged a little

Oh it really looks like hygral fatigue. Especially the frizz and hair being limp. This is my sign not to purchase a steamer. 😭

Thank you for your transparency. Sometimes people just like to upsell services that don’t have much backing and long term research.

Steaming before a silk press used to help it stay straighter for longer. So this makes sense to me
