🔥 #editing #cgi #vfx This was an idea that started in my Demo Reel 01 course at @gnomon_school under the guidance of @jhdraws (Josaya Haworth) and half_mt_studios (Miguel Ortega). The entire sequence was 18 shots, and I decided to polish and complete these 3 shots in collaboration with 3dgala (Manav Gala) and @natalietrn_art (Natalie Tran). Natalie's groom really helped bring the deer to life and take it to the next level in realism. I went back and forth with Manav as he set up the environment, FX, Lighting and compositing to push these shots to beautiful final renders. Josaya's animation critique's helped shape the animation for the creatures and really focused on delivering believable animation through the movements, weight and emotions. Miguel's eye for direction was critical in shaping the edit and flow or the sequence, ensuring that storytelling was always a priority. The animation was done in autodesk Maya. Irex dinosaur rig by @truongcgartist and deer rig by Michelle From. The Deer groom, environment, FX, Lighting and Rendering were done in @sidefxhoudini and Solaris Karma. Compositing done in @foundryteam Nuke These shots truly taught me the importance of collaboration and strong communication, and it wouldn't have been possible to execute by myself, especially in such a short amount of time.
