Sometimes it simply rests… watching the world go by with the quiet confidence that only age and wisdom can bring. Rubicon has endured a lifetime that should have been very different. Today, thanks to Felidae Centre, he has a safe place to call home where he can live out his golden years with the dignity every lion deserves. This is one of the many breathtaking moments our volunteers are privileged to experience while helping us care for rescued wildlife. Between preparing diets, cleaning enclosures, maintaining habitats, and giving our animals the second chance they deserve, they are rewarded with sunsets like these, moments that remind us exactly why we do what we do.
