My family is from Mêrdîn aka Mardin. While I loved watching your video, because I think it captured the beauty of this province beautifully, I also think it’s super important to highlight that it is not Turkish, but Kurdish and aramean/ suryoyo. I did read your explanation under a different comment who made a similar remark, so I do understand where you’re coming from. And as someone from this region I also understand that it can be difficult to navigate these topics (to stay politically correct). But looking at the history of this region, barely mentioning these groups, while simultaneously repeating the word „Turkish“ is out of place in this context and erasing what we’re trying to keep alive.
