As someone who has cared for thousands of people with dementia until the end of their lives…big big hugs. And a suggestion…write yourself a letter in your own handwriting that the person who gave this letter to you is a very important person that you trust completely and you need to follow their instructions (this would only be used in big changes ie: no driving, going to a day care center etc.). Don’t say it your partner or child or anything like that, because you might not remember them, and don’t say you have Alzheimer’s because you may not remember that and it would upset you unnecessarily, but tell your future self that they are the person you sought out to help you and you have to trust them. My husband is 67 I knew there was something wrong at least 8 years ago. He was for sure diagnosed back - 3 years ago. We are taking one day at a time.

I am so sorry. I have a family member diagnosed at 52, 4 years ago. She focuses on nutrition, exercise and sleep. She is stable. Best wishes to you. Stay positive!

My thoughts are with you. Both of my parents have rare forms of it. My mom was diagnosed at 60. She is now 75 and been in memory care for 5 years. She hasn't known who I am for 6 years now and hasn't been able to talk for 5 years. She has Posterior Cortical Atrophy. My dad has Primary Progressive Aphasia. Every day for me is a struggle emotionally. You have my full support 💗
