@flowstatefreedive: Frenzel method ⤵️ Struggling with Frenzel? This is the exact drill we get beginners to practise on land before they ever try it in the water. The Balloon Drill (T-Frenzel): • 🎈 Exhale fully, close your glottis and hold your breath • 👃 Pinch your nose and hold an inflated balloon up to your nostrils • 👅 Rest your tongue tip behind your upper front teeth (the “T-position”) • 🌬️ Let a small amount of air into your mouth by relaxing your soft palate • 🔼 Piston the back of your tongue up and down to push that air into the balloon ✅ Check: the balloon should inflate and deflate slightly with each pump … your belly and breathing muscles don’t move ✅that’s your glottis and soft palate doing their job, not your lungs This isolates the three moving parts of Frenzel: glottis, soft palate, tongue - so you can feel each one working before you’re underwater trying to think about all of them at once. Practise this dry, a few minutes a day, and it carries straight over to your dives. Follow for more freediving equalisation exercises . ⚠️ Never freedive alone or without completing a freediving course first. 💬 What’s tripping you up most with Frenzel right now glottis, palate, or the tongue piston?
