This is such a tough one. I understand why we teach children not to keep a secret, but sometimes it is mom and dad who are hurting them and telling them to keep the secret.

I teach my 4yo daughter this. One day we were in the car and snuck to Starbucks for treats and I laughed and said don’t tell dad (as we hadn’t bought him anything) she said I thought you said we weren’t to keep secrets from mum and dad? 😂 I had to reply that’s right this was a test and you passed lol
