Still such an up and coming field where they’re a big need for practitioners! Mental health counselors, social workers, psychologists, mental performance! You dont need a phd for all of these, most of them are masters (except psychologists and higher obv). Im currently doing research on the institutional side of things. What influences are there that a school might have more or less mental health professionals than others, what are their credentials, do we see growth etc.

For more insight; You’d have to get a PhD in Counseling Psychology (with a emphasis in Sport Psychology) or straight Sport Psychology. OR another route without going to PhD is to get CMPC certification! Most classmates that I talked to have their pro’s and cons of obtaining PhD but regardless you need classes and clinical/hands on hours to the certification!
