It has been the same for me. This year something inside me shifted and I don’t know if I still believe in Christ. I kinda do but I’m unsure about it. I don’t practice it as much as I used to do because I‘m still waiting for an answer.

I went through this a few yrs back I still get flashes of doubt and life after death and if it ever actually exists but brother getting through these moments is what actually solidifies our beliefs and make us feel that it’s our choice and not something you had to do

God tests those he loves the most and I think this is your trail god has made for you but the prophet SAW was the only non sinner in the whole of humanity but went through the most hardship. I hope you can endure this trail and overcome it but God is the best of planners so have some hope in him and sometimes you leave something's and let god deal with it. May Allah guide you brother

I hope this helps, if you don't want to read it all which I definitely recommend for full understanding, the last paragraph is a conclusion in which I tried to fit whole message. Happiness is just a result of me being confident in something, feeling like I MATTER and wanting for that thing to continue. To know what makes me happy I looked through my memories and found a pattern. The thing that bring me happiness is "discovery" (finding out something new or if something doesn't have strong evidence forming strong opinion about it). During the search for my happiness I started to think about the creation of the world because I was curious and wanted to "discover" it but I could not discover anything for a long time because there was no hard evidence for one thing or another. So I "discovered" my answer, it doesn't matter, if I keep thinking about it it only brings me frustration and sadness and there is no way for any human to discover an answer to that. There is an equal possibility of there existing God from Christianity or Islam or some unknown god or even no god existing at all and betting on which is real in my opinion isn't good because like I said no one can know that. This way of thinking can be good too. After all humans do not decide what happens to them after death because the don't know how their actions affect what happens after they die. We can only choose what brings us happiness. In conclusion thinking that by believing a religion you can decide what happens after your death is stupid because it's impossible to know how a god will judge us or if there is a god. So you should focus on living a life that makes you happy and proud of yourself without feeling regret because what is any decision that you make about what is unknown finally doesn't matter. P.S. I hope it was understandable I'm not good at explaining my opinions.

I am in similar boat I be honest but the reality is if we purely rely on empirical evidence to find the truth it will lead us to only doubt and speculation . How can we deduce if necessary being exists or doesn’t exist in observable universe . But for some reason I still choose Islam because of the man who brought Islam . The same man who was kicked from his homeland Mecca , the same man who was given opportunity to rule , to have all the women his tribe could offered , wealth ,power . The man who starved and tied stones on his stomach so he relief the immense pain of his hunger trying to survive his own tribe chasing him. I reccomand your sister or brother read the seerah of the prophet and ask your self question what was the motive of this man ? Was it for power , wealth , maybe for women , or maybe for impact (but he told the companions don’t elevate his statues more then a messanger and slave of Allah ). It doesn’t matter how much philosophy one’s read because it’s swimming in unknown ocean where there is no “right direction” people say go left go right the reality this ocean is deep and unknown. You realize each direction is purely now preference . So just be sincere be truthful to your self I hope you find your answer . In sha Allah it’s Islam .

please don’t fall down the hole of never looking deeper. philosophy runs so much deeper than nihilism and is truly beautiful, there is so, so much more to consider, and yes you’re right, you will never find an answer. but does that matter? life may not have any inherent meaning or identifiable purpose, so provide it with meaning yourself. every individual alive is currently existing in their lived experience, all of which are giving things meaning, whether they do that through religion or through themselves or through the study of others ideas. religion is just another perspective amongst millions, take this opportunity to learn. don’t be afraid of the end

Honestly I just find the thought that this, our reality we are living right now is all there is to it unacceptable. If you believe in justice you believe in god and I will keep believing in justice for the people of the past present and future that saw the horrible reality’s of life. The thought of life ending with death depresses me deeply for many reasons. Furthermore the things I do or don’t do for my religion have never harmed me, its probably quite the opposite, so I’m thinking what would change in my life if I wasn’t Muslim? Drinking, revealing clothes, Zina? I don’t think those things could ever fulfill me like my religion does at certain moments. Sometimes in life I also had moments, you called them miracles, in those instances I felt the presence of god so strongly to the the point it brought me to tears but it’s easy to forget those special moments or maybe we don’t even notice them all the time. Especially when a lot of the times practicing religion feels mundane or like a chore but then again we’re human it’s human nature and its not supposed to be easy and we’re expected to doubt, ask and I’m sure we would doubt religion even if the existence of god was written all over the sky. So I’m thinking even if some people try to portray it diffrently, as Muslims we all feel and connect to god differently and maybe we misunderstand or can’t really comprehend the concept of god as a whole but I will always do what I think it’s right and I am going to do it my way. If god would have expected the exact same thing from all of us he would have created as the same.

I don't think there's anything wrong with being where you are right now. Life isn't about arriving at one permanent worldview and staying there forever. It's about the journey. My advice would be to keep reading, keep learning, and stay curious. Even Dostoevsky wrestled with suffering, doubt, and meaning, yet he still found the world profoundly beautiful. Don't treat this moment as if it's the end of your story. None of us can see what's waiting around the next corner. Maybe life won't suddenly hand you all the answers, but with time and experience, things have a way of falling into place.

ok so, before I start chatting, I’m not straying you away from Islam or anything I’m just sharing my experience, but before I became agnostic, I would spiral ānd have mental breakdowns wondering if god even existed, if heaven existed, ānd I remember reading some stuff in the Quran that wouldn’t align with my views ānd I felt horrible, I would look for answers for my questions but when someone answered it was the same old stuff that didn’t even answer my actual question. It was like they were jst saying ā whole load of nothing. Islam has been an identity to me, not just a religion. My family, my friends, even my country was based in Islam, ānd the more I thought of leaving Islam the more I was scared. I thought that if I left Islam ānd then died I would be sent to hell. The more I questioned, the more it felt like I was in a hole— ā never ending one, I just would have more questions to the answers I was given so I left. I realised, that if hell was keeping me in the religion then I’m just being fear mongered. Another realisation I found was that I was only Muslim becus everyone else around me was and that I was using Islam to cope. I would neglect my daily needs. I was depressed. I didn’t even have energy to brush my teeth, but I thought that nothing matters, I just need to go to heaven. I’m not saying that this is problem with Islam but ā me problem, jst hoping u find my experience relatable. I know this numbness feels like it’s forever, but it’s not.

I somewhat experienced that but for just a week. And I can understand how bad it feels but my advice socialize, laugh, talk with friends, try to stay in a good mood and more importantly see nature and the outside world and read Quran with tafseer. And in the very end ask Allah for help. May he help you.
