I'm Latina, so not black but there is something with the way they were promoting The Vampire's lestat. When we and 2 amazing seasons and a lack of promotion of The Interview with the Vampire🤔 when Jacob Anderson was the lead. Doesn't sit right with me and is very upsetting.

because Lestat was there too. him and Armand have unfinished business too, if that’s the excuse we want to use for why this scene happened. Why then did only Louis (and Regina) get tortured, whilst we have this fuckass dream sequence from Lestat??? don’t piss me off.

With Lupita as Helen, I knew something was off! Like I’ve not read every version of the Odyssey so I thought I might be missing something, but I’ve NEVER heard of Helen of Troy having her face destroyed. Also, after having a black man in the lead role of IWTV build up this amazing show and following on his back, to have him sidelined and mutilated was very telling. It’s like they’re trying to put black people “in their place” by humiliating some of the best of us on screen.

What gets me about Rhaena in particular isn’t just that she was glamorous, she was considered beautiful enough that people wrote songs about her and the people *adored* her, and they’ve not only got her living in a cave which has NOTHING to do with Nettles’ story, they’ve made sure everybody hates her for her extremely contrived role in Jace’s death. Absolutely no reason to do her like this
