Part time employees can sign up for insurance and yes they get Holiday pay if they work that day.

they going to see who I don't know what you work for up at the Dollar General that I work for did not offer good benefits and they did not take care of their employees! they work their employees to death I was assistant manager and I work nights and I had one employee other than myself and they expected me to do a lot more work than one person could do in that situation! so you must have a special store good luck to you

when I started working with DG I was part time with part time hours (15 to 22 hours weekly) plus I was offered benefits (medical, vision, and dental) & was paid holiday pay for any holiday I worked which was Thanksgiving and Easter. The medical benefits they offer for part time employees is not good insurance (I do not recall the company it's thru) at all, but, the dental and vision insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee) is awesome. Now I am full-time key holder/mod and I was offered better medical insurance with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee along with vision and dental insurance that's also thru Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee. Since having insurance thru DG the only one I've used so far is my vision insurance and I didn't pay anything out of pocket for the eye exam and I paid very little for my frames and lenses. I plan on using my dental insurance soon which I will not have to pay for the cleaning.

Sounds like your manager wasn't a good one. I have 12 employees, and all of them are treated very well. I've learned in my 14 years of being with dollar general.If you treat your people well, they stay around

This was for a store located near Newark oh every store is ran differently unfortunately I had a very bad district manager as well as store manager I was the assistant so I only had so much control of the situations

My FT employees get their hours first, pt get what I have left. If shifts open up, no one is required to take them. So you just had a bad manager.

Our district manager stop us for not having lunches, or breaks anymore. Also took one month to get our bathrooms fix and didn’t have anywhere else to go and the district manager did nothing about it, until customers weren’t coming. ✌️

Unfortunately, that’s with most corporate companies now, been with the corporate companies for the last five years and people around me been promoted. I’m still at the same old spot., work full-time hours, but no benefits or holiday pay or anything or even sick time, it’s just the way it is nowadays.

the insurance doesn't cover much so not worth it...and manager part depends on who ur manager is...and the hours...it depends on how short staffed...n holiday pay there are only 1 maybe 2 days of holiday pay that dg recognizes. and last your experience is different then anyone else

Don’t ever get a position that is salaried. They don’t have you clock in so there’s no proof if you get your breaks or not. Some SM have to work 50+ hrs/week just to stay within labor budget…

KEEP GOING PLEASE, they literally overwork us to the point where we are damn near feel like we are dying. The AC in our building hardly works so working truck is miserable. They don’t give us enough hrs to schedule our entire team, they don’t care if you hurt yourself at work, they just want the paycheck from you hurting yourself. Dollar general needs to be investigated 10000%

. I was assistant manager of the Plattsmouth Nebraska store for 2 years and it sucked. it literally sucked then I had a new manager that came in and said I wasn't doing enough and she fired me! Dollar General is a joke and anybody that works for them should be prepared to not matter cuz to them you don't matter all that matters is their dollar signs

As a former DG manager that worked from an associate up, GIRL I have YEARS of DG stories to make people horrified to work there lmao. Never in my life will I ever suggest people to work for DG. It’s a hell show😂🤷♀️
