I feel someone should have stepped in after the first warning, I know you say “Biscuit needs to learn the hard way” and I believe older dogs should correct pups but leaving a puncture wound is not a correction and not a good learning opportunity for your pup, it can lead to reactivity when your pup ages. I have an older dog with food resource guarding and my partner and I have always stood nearby and acted like a wall to stop our kittens and puppy from going near her while eating. They now very rarely approach her while she eats and if they do she only growls because she knows we will step in, as dogs with resource guarding aren’t going to correct nicely as their only goal is to protect their things. It is also unnecessary stress for the other dog, needing to resort to biting because nobody else is advocating for it. I really hope a speedy recovery for Biscuit 💙

Yeah if your best friend is blaming YOUR dog, she needs a new profession. Her dog is resource guarding aggressively and this is extremely dangerous.
