FINALLY SOMEONE ELSE SAID IT. more evidence of his sanity possibly being very low is that MINT TEA is all he ever really drinks anymore (his first dialogue) - The mint tea slowly increases your sanity over time im pretty sure tea, in general, is supposed to be relaxing too

the incident in question could litteraly be him being turned into an anomaly (implied by his appearance in the lobby) and unless they managed to fully cure him (which i doubt) i believe that the reason he doesnt really help patients as much anymore might be to avoid actually hurting them going off the stuff you said i think the corporation saving him is mostly them having found something that holds off the symptoms of turning into an anomaly fully which then yeah him blindly following them makes sense cause "if they made that they can make a cure for sure"

I think Harlow is a victim himself. The animal corporation has him on a leash (bc I think he’s part anomaly and the AC put him on some kind of meds that make him lethargic so he can’t work properly) and they’re the only reason he’s still himself. Just my personal hc

I don't think he does nothing in the hospital. I'm pretty sure he at least does some administration work at the hospital. like registering patients, managing shifts, etc. also the idea of him becoming hostile If he loses his low sanity, feels a little off since in the game the animals dies when they lose sanity. however this also means doctor Harlow might be aware of the creepy secrets, since in the game when you have low sanity, the posters become looking creepy, probably exposing some shady secrets behind animal corp
