Everyone needs to get off social media and touch grass. It’s not normal to take out loans for a wedding. Bachelorette parties were just ONE night. Now they’re days longs trips out of the country. If people only had a ceremony and didn’t obsess with the reception party I think things would be different

My wedding is in Mexico (cause the weddings there are way cheaper than Canada) but I told everyone no hurt feeling if you can’t come we will have a local gathering in a park when we come home!!! No engagement party, bachelor and bachelorette will just be partying in Mexico while we are there

It’s definitely social media. Weddings used to be punch and cake at a church fellowship hall or someone’s backyard. Only millionaires had the big huge weddings. Then social media made everyone think they needed that too.
