This just happened to someone I know. She was a single mom and her family are all alcoholics so she was looking everywhere to find a family for her son before she died. She placed him like 3 days before she passed.

Me, 8, my sister 10. and brother, 3, where all placed for adoption è when our mother died. Our father had remarried by then, to a 22 year old. I guess he couldn't imagine raising his kids.

I know of a lovely gay couple who ran a B&B near Toronto and they met a mom who was dying of cancer while they were trying to adopt in the early 90s. The mother had other family but got to know the couple and wanted them to adopt her son so they did. A little under a year later they got the call that their application to adopt overseas was also approved so they adopted another little boy and both grew up as brothers. I use to go to their B&B every year, it was a wonderful place by the lake. A few years ago their sold their B&B and the new owners turned it into something else which made me sad as I’ve never been able to find a place like it again. The couple now live out in Nova Scotia.

When I was 16 I cared for a terminal illness mom 💔she was 27 with 3 children and she looked for adoptive parents for her 3. So heartbreaking ❤️❤️RIP LIL MOMMA 🙏🏻🫶🏼🙏🏻
