We don’t turn to our parents because they have taught us since our childhood that they are not a safe place, not a place of support, not a place to be trusted. They engrained that in us from childhood. Why would we go to the very place what ensured we knew and would remember that they don’t want to be bothered with our fears, worries, questions, support needs etc? Once someone shows you time and again they can’t be trusted you stop going to them. It’s not hard to understand

My best friend lost 3 babies and then had a daughter. Her daughter just lost a baby and told her mom she will never understand what she’s going through 😳and all the mom was doing was trying to give her a hug. Kids theses days don’t want to care that us parents too suffered and we also have hearts. She rather have a stranger’s opinion on the matter and not heal with Mom 😡
