My wife and I live in a 4 bedroom home that we raised our family in and the kids have gone. I’m on a semi rural acreage, why would I want to move from a home I’ve paid for and I love. I wake up everyday with the sound of nature, It’s quiet and my veranda looks over beautiful native bushland that houses native animals. Why would I want to swap that for a villa in town. I’m a realist I will have to move when I’m too old to look after the place but until then I’m not moving.

I got a question. Our elderly will live a single level 2 bedroom house, 80 to 100square with 1 en-suite, one bathroom. 300 square land and tidy low maintenance garden. I can build it very comfortably and budget. But the land cost too much, too high. Governments fee, utilities and contributions too high. So how can we archive affordable and comfortable? Ask from NZ.

Tom , Tom , Tom …. it’s also the straight up cost of changing !! Selling expenses REA , legals , staging ? accommodation during selling period if staged? , movers , stamp duty on new purchase, legals etc etc . Not hard to blow $100 grand to change address ! No way mate !!! No way !!!

There are plenty of homes. There a just to many people. we need to down size population. Overpopulation is not a good thing. If we can't make it work with the people we have. Doubling the population will just double the problem.

A lot of people don’t want strata. Yes produce free standing affordable 2 bedroom homes and you might get people willing to move but strata is a nightmare.
