I think a lot of it is actually the fact she herself IS the weapon, to kill with her bare hands is dehumanizing in a way. like, if shes supposed to be a weapon and nothing more than why should she need other weapons to do HER job and it makes it feel more savage in a way? like getting down and dirty fighting tooth and nail to kill all these grown me yk

I like the bayonet more than the axe. Mainly because I feel like it seems more accurate because the weight compared to an axe seems more leveled. So for a child to fight with the bayonet and still be rough seems more accurate than the axe

I see a lot of similar comments - while I think the battle axe would be cool, I think using the bayonet, hand to hand, knives and whatnot show the brutality much better. She’s a child soldier and she uses anything she can get her hands on - she’s not “classically” trained as a soldier and shouldn’t have to be there in the first place. The army not giving her a “proper” weapon was likely in the hopes she’d succumb because like Deitfried said - discard her once her use is up

Cool but I’m glad they scraped it. The entire reason I love this series so much is because of how raw it is and I think a comically large battle axe would take away from that

I despise the battle axe, in a fairly grounded depiction of war why the hell would a 12 year old be running around with a massive axe. it looks cool I guess. but it's awful.
