I'll never forget the time we all brought characters to session zero and I made a half Drow bard whose backstory was that her single adventurer mother left her in the care of a tavern between jobs where she learned to love stories of heroes and knights and someone else brought a Drow bounty hunter who was going after her human crime boss ex husband... We looked at each other in session zero and I said "are you my mom?!?!?!" and the table unanimously agreed we had to. Every interaction was pure gold
