This looks amazing! I’m currently sitting on a bunch of blue tile samples to do something similar. My bathroom was torn out due to mold (my house is 5 years old). I don’t know what you did for waterproofing but I wanted to remind you to make sure it’s waterproofed well because mold literally ruined me and my husband’s lives in just a few years 😅🥰 also I can show this video because then he’ll want me to tile our bathroom while he’s at work 😂

You don't want both surfaces combed when you back butter. Scrape it flat on the tile. Also, USUALLY you want your comb marks to run in the direction of water escaping. So up and down when you are on a wall, but since you're running such a skinny and long tile in a vertical stack, I think side to side makes more sense to allow for more air to escape
