I love horror and like the first movie. But evil dead is not a good recommendation for someone who doesn’t like horror. There’s plenty of women’s horror movie like Jennifer’s body. But that’s old and not in theaters.

My thing about this movie is like... Why is it that the deaths of the black and brown characters are so much more graphic and drawn out? The violence that happens to the younger brother, the grandma, and the mom happens mostly off screen and in the background while the camera's focused elsewhere, but we get minutes-long sequences of the black and brown characters getting brutalized and then close up shots of their mutilated corpses. They were weird as hell for that 🙄

The original Evil Dead movies from the 80s are a hoot. Specifically Evil Dead 2 (which is a remake of the first film but with 1000% more slapstick comedy).

omg finally!!! I’m a huge horror fan and adore the evil dead franchise but I did not like this movie and don’t see what other people are seeing. We only know one trait about each of the characters and there’s not much to the story except for its brutality which is boring!!!!! By the end I was just like “yup alright this is happening again”

pattern recognition is a curse when you're also a nerd. did this one also had a stupid amount of over done violent scenes for no reason? I feel like most of the horror movies I hear about now add a bunch of truely unnecessary body horror

you realize this franchise started with three movies where the male lead gets tortured, right? we don't watch the evil dead to see the women get tortured. 🤦. they're also known for being very formulaic, lol.
