@madtotherescue50: madtotherescue Update: Euthanasia List: Layla #A2026821, 2Y, Female, HW+ Layla had some X-rays done when a volunteer noticed a funny gait. She needs surgery on BOTH back legs which is an $1200 expense. She desperately needs a long term committed foster AND pledges in order to save her. It's a big ask but the rescue interested in her sadly cannot commit without both pieces of the puzzle % Let me know if you can help save her life! Layla was quietly watching me as I handled dogs around her. I saw the slightest little wag when I baby talked to her and then I was toast, game over, I knew I was going to love her. She was so easy to leash up - not at all trying to barge through the kennel door or pull on the leash. She walked beside me, looking up to me for reassurance as we made our way to the outdoor run. She kept her tail tucked but I could see it slowly starting to loosen as we kept walking. Out in the yard, I gave her space and just crouched down on the ground, she came up to me with a low, fast, swishy tail. Gently laying her beautiful mastiff face on my leg and melting into me. She is all of those mastiff traits that make them such AMAZING dogs - a strong, quiet presence. While Layla is certainly scared in the kennel environment, she is also trusting - and that is huge. I know for a fact that she's going to be someone's soul dog and changes their entire life. *Pledges toward rescue are appreciated!
