@livingouramericandream: Part 2 of the dock….setting into the water was a breeze using a tow strap, tractor and forks! #kubota #tractor #dock #diyproject #pond
Might want to put some pole caps on top of those poles or you’ll have yellow jacket set up in them

Definitely would’ve put the dock over the metal posts then pulled the deck board off and screwed it to the inside of the deck . Would look a whole lot better.

What precautions did you take to ensure the end that is submerged in the water won’t rot out in 6 months

Looks great but COVER TUOSE POLES! Great way to slash a foot open if you don’t

Fasten the dock brackets to the inside for cosmetics, safety and strengthen it. Gravity and stepping into it will put pressure on the screws and not the posts. The post on the inside will push on the posts since the dock is uphill

I always wonder where folks are at that you can do this without sweating. I’d be soaked most days in December here in Texas

Add some floats to the bottom so it goes up and down with the varying water levels

if you build a 8ftx8ft floating dock you could attach it to the little dock you put in give you a little bit bigger of a deck for the pond 😁😁😁

Love it. That’s some genius hillbilly stuff right there. Now you got me thinking how can you make it 10 feet longer and 5 feet wider? We’ll call this one to scrimmage. 😁

Should’ve mounted the post brackets inside so you don’t see them it would hold better from sliding in when screw give way just undo the first couple boards

Why not put the dock footer on the outside of the fence posts? It keeps you from hitting your foot on the metal and lets the weight of the dock anchor itself.

How’d you calculate the pond end post lengths? Did you put any concrete blocks in the pond under those legs? Came out nice.
