@daniellejmitchell: Morning skincare chitchat: since my daughter dying I’m back being afraid of the world I finally got my mental health in check and under control and not letting my thoughts control my life, but since everything that happened with Maggie confirmed that my intrusive thoughts can be real I have had the worst ocd flare up, and the panic attacks are back.

Danielle, listen to me right now, NOTHING “sounds stupid” grief or not…your mental health isn’t “silly” or “stupid” or “overdramatic”…even before Bette was born, you are so validated. It is not your fault, there are circumstances and excessive trauma that have shaped this. You are extremely valid, you are allowed to feel WHATEVER YOU NEED TO, as long as you have support, and care and love guiding you through professional help, there can be progress. I completely understand that Maggie’s life has reactivated a lot of those traumas and thoughts, you are MORE than validated. You have taken the first step which is acknowledgment, that is very important, and from now onward, your wanting to still seek help is BEYOND amazing. These things are so difficult, so hard, impossible almost, I SEE YOU, I HEAR YOU, WE LOVE YOU. I’m glad you have a professional to turn to, I am glad you decided to share this to us. We are here for you, although we may not be able to fix it, and some may not even understand, BUT, we are right here

Do you have a feeling of constant doom and like a ‘of course this would happen to me it’s not even surprising’ or like you’re just waiting for bad things to happen?

It’s not stupid. A panic attack can feel like a heart attack. It feels very real. The brain is an incredible thing. Nothing you have said is stupid. I’m so sorry Danielle

I just cannot imagine. I also have OCD - contamination- but as you know it’s not just ‘being clean’ it rules my life every thought, decision etc. I also have severe emetophobia that is worse than the OCD. I’m on meds and therapy and it is fucking hard. Most people just don’t get that OCD rules your life.

Such a torturous mental battle having anxiety and intrusive thoughts. You are a very strong woman and an incredible role model. Ground yourself in nature, literally get your toes in the dirt, stretch with intention, breath work, routine, something creative for yourself.. lots of self care… make your spaces your sanctuary with your mood lighting and healing vibes.. sending love

I’ve had a similar mental health history. At the beginning of this year one of the worse most traumatic things happened to me. Probably in even worse circumstances than I could’ve made up in my mind. Somehow for some reason it’s actually let me breathe and be clearer minded. Like it actually happened and it wasn’t just my anxiety and intrusive thoughts fabricating a traumatic event. My nervous system has actually touched something so horrendous and final not much more scares me anymore. It’s so strange.
