It was Chad Feehan who he was speaking about not Sheridan. Chad was the showrunner and was sacked. Ed had a say in who was hired to replace him.

Would have loved more if him then the teenagers. A total waste of story time. Did the same in the other series with the mom and daughter. Would have loved more of the dad.

Sheridan tends to fck up the shows because he gets jealous of the leads. A good writer but a fck up in the end.
