baxum I think your off on this one. If a guy has 50,000 in debt he is going to struggle paying that off if he makes 70-80k. Rent is around 1500,gas is almost 4 bucks per gallon, groceries are 300 bucks, used cars are 20,000 and that's not even taking into account investing and saving for a rainy day. 70k is a lot harder to live off of nowadays in this crazy economy and your perspective is influenced by immense privilege.

My cousin (civil engineer) 24 years old. Graduated at 23 and was the only one out of all of his siblings or family to work in his choice of study. He recently bought a new home and we live in CA btw. I picked health science and yet to find a job, my other cousin did business and is now cleaning pools and my other cousin did education and is going for a masters still. So needless to say I think he made a good choice 👌👌Plus engineering is the Highest ROI major out of all college majors. 4 years of school and making starting 70-90k locally sounds good to me .

I don’t even really agree with the “bare minimum won’t really accomplish much”, I mean sure if you cheated your entire way through your degree, but if you have any social skills whatsoever and an engineering degree you will 100% get opportunities

so i wanted to do electrical and now i think i wanna do environmental, does that path like do good? i see that the median is like 102k, not that its low but would it be better just to go mechanical and pathway into environmental thru that?
