that black piece you are writing on is called the valve cover. it goes on the head and covers the valves, hence the name, valve cover

Oil pan is just chillin there bc the gasket was squished for so long it’s become its own for of bonding stuck a flathead in the edge and twist she will pop right off

they make oil pan removal tools, or if you don’t wanna get one try to find anything thin and sturdy enough to push into the seal and separate
