Do the studies (which I’ve read about too) cover people who are born hearing impaired I’m curious?

Sean Goldstein :
Not for me. As an autistic, having hearing loss probably kept me alive.

I went to see if i needed hearing aids. turns out I have great hearing... but was recommended to ask my doctor for an ADHD diagnosis. I still have frequent bad days where speech doesn't register in my brain.

I convinced my dad to get a hearing assessment and hearing aids and it was life changing until he discovered that he can listen to the radio through them. Now we're sort of back where we started 😂🤦🏼♀️

Also works with lemons. If someone has difficulty lemoning, give them lemonades 🥰

I wonder why so many people resist getting a hearing aid, it must be exhausting not being able to hear clearly

The challenge is getting my mother to use the hearing aids in a regular basis

It took me years to convince my dad to get them. I kept telling him this. I fear he still left it too late. He was so used to not hearing conversations he still switches out of them

Been trying! My mom is on her 3rd pair and keeps having problems with them. I think hearing aids just aren’t even close to as good as we pretend they are. There’s a huge gap between good healthy hearing vs hearing aid “corrected” hearing.

Middle-aged Perspective :
How timely. I just got hearing aids after 4 years of trying to get a hearing problem sorted. Makes a big difference. No longer asking my partner to repeat himself, which gets embarrassing after a while.

I would question whether you mean someone who had hearing but has lost it. because babies who are born deaf sometimes could not have a correction for hearing but thrive with sign language and I think don't fall into this category you mention.

when I was 30 I discovered I had a hearing condition called Meniere's disease. luckily I don't need a hearing aid yet but it is a possibility in the future. I personally never understood why people resist getting one. It is hard but I personally would rather hear than not

my dad struggles so much with his hearing aides, he's also stubborn... so it's kinda tough convincing him of anything although mom usually succeeds.

💯 my very active, healthy father suddenly had difficulty hearing and his vision dramatically declined at the same time. He could not engage with the world around him, nothing to stimulate his mind. Once they were corrected he looked and acted 10 years younger
