incorrect kaneki is the hanged man furuta is the fool, kaneki is shown in two ways as the hanged man; Him wanting to die at coachela for others although that was his selfish desire (false/tragic hero) and him being used to create the dragon by furuta, which furuta didnt expect him to come out of the dragon. furuta is the fool because he represents absurdism, the awareness that life has no meaning or is wrong itself so you make fun out of itself, which is why most of furuta’s actions are goofy or like a clown, we know furuta represents absurdism because he ate the apple of knowledge, knowing he’s 2d (breaking the third wall, furuta has cover art of himself holding an apple, the apple means knowledge) and he doesnt necessarily act serious, he only really gets serious in the final fight really and thats because of his mental wellness.
