@ribbityrip: It bugged me for a long time when I first gotten a Variable Neutral Density filter aka VND I kept seeing weird bandings and rainbows through windows, but not really visible when it doesn’t involve glass Then I learned that VND uses 2 polarizer that limits the angle of light passing through to restrict light, and windows with tint like your car or home most likely used polarizer as well and this doesn’t react well to the VND’s already polarized filter and causes all the weird light bending A fixed ND on the other hand uses a coating to reduce light transmission without any polarizer so that basically solves our issue if you need and ND filter for automotive content or anything with a lot of glass, consider a fixed power ND filter #ndfilter

I used ND/PL, with good orientation it hides my speed reading with those rainbow 😂
